What Are the Fields of Cybersecurity?

Before mentioning cybersecurity, also known as information technology security or electronic information security, it would be more appropriate to answer the question of what is cybersecurity? Cybersecurity is a type of service that consists of an intangible and very comprehensive network infrastructure.

Cybersecurity fields can be described as Network Security, Application Security, Mobile Security, Identity Management and Data Security, Cloud Security, Emergency recovery, and business continuity planning.

So, what exactly is the job description of cybersecurity? In answer to this question, it can be said that cybersecurity exists to prevent malicious attacks from outside in order to protect the internet network and the programs or devices in which the internet is used, and even people.

Providing The Cybersecurity Is Difficult?

It can be said that it is not easy to provide cybersecurity for people who do not have knowledge in this field. In order to ensure a secure system, security control of both the network, devices, and servers should be provided simultaneously. On the other hand, if any of the networks, devices, and servers are vulnerable, system security may collapse. The threats faced can be grouped under three headings.

  • Cybercrime is a system that targets people or groups that cause financial loss and business disruption.
  • Cyber-attack is aimed at gathering information on any subject or field.
  • Cyber terrorism, on the other hand, is aimed at seizing electronic systems by intimidating and causing panic.

Apart from these three titles, other methods that threaten cybersecurity includes attacks such as malware, phishing, SQL injection, and denial of service.

How Cybersecurity Measures Should Be?

The measures to be taken in system security are as follows.

  • In order to protect from system security vulnerability, it is important that the software and operating system are up to date in devices and programs.
  • Antivirus software should be used to prevent harmful and malicious software from entering devices such as computers.
  • Strong passwords which not easy should be used.
  • E-mail attachments whose sender is unknown should not be opened.
  • Unsecured networks should not be used, especially in public areas.

By paying attention to these items, measures are taken against many threats and damages.

What Does a Cybersecurity Specialist Do?

The increase in cyber-attacks, which is one of the disadvantageous situations of being in the age of technology, shows how important and necessary it is to focus more on cybersecurity.

Cyber experts who do this job have duties such as identifying vulnerabilities in the network system and taking measures against them, minimizing possible losses in case of any attack, creating new software that will provide the strongest performance, and developing new ways against the problem.

Titles of Employees in Cybersecurity

The titles of employees in cybersecurity are given a name according to the work done and to what extent the work is done. According to professionalism, the titles of specialist, analyst, or engineer are brought to the continuation of the business field.

How to Become a Cybersecurity Expert?

In order to serve in this field, certain training should be taken. The training that can be taken should be in computer and software engineering, computer technologies, mathematics, and data analysis.
